Boye® Frame Shuttle

The Boye®-brand frame shuttle was patented by Gustave A. Carlson of Chicago, Illinois on May 4, 1945 with The Boye Needle Company as assignee. It was supposed to be easier to load thread and had an integral picot-picking point. It couldn't have been too successful as there are not a lot of examples left. At the top is TATTING (BOYE) SHUTTLE, along the bottom THE BOYE NEEDLE COMPANY, CHICAGO and PAT PEND.
